Snowflake Challenge: Day Two
Jan. 12th, 2018 02:10 pmIn your own space, share a favorite memory about fandom: the first time you got into fandom, the last time a fanwork touched your heart, crazy times with fellow fans (whether on-line or off-line), a lovely comment you’ve received or have left for someone. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
I reread Rumor Has It by
gyzym this past spring, and I remember standing at a bus stop downtown, hunched into the screen of my phone, thinking something like this, this, this, full of joy and contentment.
It's beautiful. It's a fanwork that soars. Stories like that one are why we tell stories, I think. That story is like a blanket and an axe.
That's what fandom has been for me, in part: a blanket and an axe.
