1: due South Academic AUs
Feb. 22nd, 2009 08:06 pmIn celebration of and for
readbystarlight, because part of the wonder of knowing
readbystarlight is that I have someone to talk to about fandom, someone who will sometimes wander with me into new places, and also someone who can lead me there.

Fraser is Fraser, and he is going to make the world a better place. Fraser's internalised his father wonderfully, even when he's not haunting him. (Of course, when Fraser Sr. is haunting him this is most excellent) Fraser is Ray's grad student; he finds himself in a most unusual situation.

They're both English teachers, Kowalski a winner of the Pinsent Award* and rebellious tenured professor, and Fraser as a junior faculty member, taken on reluctantly due to extraordinary circumstances. I really like this fic, because it is full of wonderful things, like literary discussions, and Ray.
*If this is an actual award I am going to be terribly disappointed, because as things stand this is made of awesomeness. Gordon Pinsent, people. Gordon Pinsent, especially because I'm envisioning him as his The Red Green Show character here. It's pretty fabulous.

Fraser is a campus librarian. That alone fills me with a wonderful glee. There's Fraser's wonderful knowledge of ridiculous things applied to books, and some mild book abuse. It's very cute.

A bit darker than the rest of these, Fraser gets put on duty lecturing on the history of the R.C.M.P. to ambivalent students. Different.
