Mulan, in Adversity

Art; SFW
The colour scheme of this piece results in a distinct background and foreground sweeping together a little and works to establish the chaos of the avalanche that Mulan and Khan are caught in. I love Mulan's expression in this, that she does have these really wide eyes and how very clearly "oh shit" is written on her face.

Rating: PG-13; 1, 235 words; Warning: graphic depictions of violence, major character death
Even six months after the Mandate of Heaven fell upon another, the river runs foul all its length, no matter how they dredge it for corpses, or poison.
I love this story. I love its tags, that it's a story with Chinese dragons and hydropolitics and sexism and regime changes and zombies in the form of reanimated flesh. I love that it has that darkness about it. I love how very much a story it is; I love how it's crafted.

Summary: "The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all."
This vid follows the story of the film, Mulan's story, and condenses it and distills it and it's gorgeous and deadly. It's set to this perfect instrumental piece that has this sweeping quality and that's what the vid does - sweeps through moments and emotions. It's lovely.
