What a Million Girls Would Kill For by

Summary: This – the Prada skirts and Jimmy Choos – was what a lesbian should look like.
Rating: PG-13 | 3,317 words | Emily
A short story about Emily's trip from childhood to Miranda Priestly's office, featuring the usual kind of background homophobic nonsense and Emily just following her dreams. I love how this story sketches out Emily's beginnings and takes on lesbian stereotypes with Emily never once considering adopting plaid flannels.

Summary: Emily goes to Paris. Again.
Rating: PG-13 | 4,848 words | Emily/Andy
There's a sort of tension in Emily in this and because of that throughout the whole story; it's really satisfying. Andy weaves her way back into Emily's life, the way people sometimes do. The stitching of this story is really lovely, sparse and perfect.
Truth and Measure by

Summary: Andy doesn't leave Miranda in Paris, and learns that a single decision can change your life. But the main thing about decisions? You don't get to stop with one.
Rating: NC-17 | 271,548 words | Andy/Miranda
Epic alternate universe fic with political maneuverings, porn, power differentials, divorce, kids - everything, basically. An incredibly thorough trouser AU that does a really good job of capturing everything about The Devil Wears Prada that makes it such femslash-bait.

Date: 2018-02-06 03:08 am (UTC)Yeah, I read a lot of Andy/Miranda because that's what was there and 271K and so on and power dynamics but I really love Emily and it's a kind of different negotiation between her and Andy than Andy and Miranda; I like it.

Date: 2018-02-06 03:16 am (UTC)My relationship with Andy is prickly. There's a definite point where she acquiesces to extremely conventional plot devices--which then led me to resent her for a long time.
Nowadays, if I happen to catch the movie on TV, I turn it off/change the channel after Andy attends the big gala.
Anyways, I hope you like that fic. <3
