Apparently Joe and Sophie got married in Vegas last night. (There's also been some wait/what speculation, apparently, but, like, either way: of course Joe is the one that has a Vegas ceremony.)
The Jobros did a medley of Sucker and the solo hits at The Billboard Awards (hence Vegas) and it's continued proof that Kevin is the superior Jonas - he has a guitar solo fire entrance and I can't figure out what he's wearing but I am entranced by it. It appears from the front to be a denim jacket under a dark canvas jacket with old timey military-ish buttons and the back is the denim jacket again. I don't know what's happening but I admire his gusto - wear all the jackets. ...and there's no scarf, but I feel like there's a suggestion of scarfitude with all the layering. (Nick appears to be wearing black leather pants with a soft grey sparkly 80s shoulder-padded jacket and nothing else except a necklace. ...and Joe has a sequinned bomber jacket and normal pants like Kevin.)
Taylor Swift and Brendon Urie performed (Does the thing where I have now listed everyone except for the wives that I recognised in the crowd scenes mean that I am out of touch with popular music? Likely.) their new single and it was pretty great - those two have artistic vision and understand the value of good choreography - and a solid interpretation of the music video for ME!, which is some high quality nerd kid soft-rainbow-unicorn-style nonsense, if that's what you want in your life. (It feels very on brand for both of them, which I like.) Also: the shoes and the umbrellas and the lamp posts and the pattycake-ing. ♥
The Jonas Brothers also had a new single out early last month called Cool, and it was basically everything I was expecting the first new single to be and was disappointed that it wasn't. Nick seems to be the only one taking it sort of seriously, and Kevin is the best part. He has a white captain's outfit and three parrots at one point and also plays air guitar on a metal detector. It's making me want to re-watch Camp Rock for Kevin's birdhouse nonsense and make a playlist of other nerdpop songs and reread that Skippy fic with the parrot and tour bus dating - which some poking around has revealed is The Scene Isn’t What It’s Been by
skoosiepants - and I am fond, basically, of all of these glorious losers (bden, etc.).
I thought I was out and then they pulled me back in. *hands*
