Things have been said about who's going to be in the Doctor Who finale.

Okay, so according to [community profile] torch_wood, right here there is Rose, Captain Jack and Torchwood, Martha and UNIT, and Sarah-Jane appearing here along with The Doctor and Donna.

This is somewhat further confirmed by this (yet more spoilerish because it talks about villains) news item on the BBC website.  Earth's greatest heroes assemble in a time of dire need

So, this is all huge, and I was incredibly excited when I read it, (There was so much squee.) but it's... I'm looking at this and going, "Sarah-Jane, really?" because she sticks out a bit.  She doesn't quite fit, and there's so many important characters there.

Thing 1: Rose.  Holy crap.  We have been waiting for this, and taunted by this, and so, so many things.  Rose is back.  (I'm actually incredibly suspicious of this, because I'm not sure I'll be emotionally satisfied by this, or not betrayed.)  I  could see there being some of the same stuff going on as in Father's Day, just... arguing and someone having messed with the universe rather badly.  Also: Rose gets to see herself having been replaced, twice.  (Isn't Rose part of her AU Torchwood now, too?)

Thing 2: Torchwood: (chronologically-ish)
A: Gwen.  There's been a Gwen from Cardiff on Doctor Who before.
B: Jack/Ianto (and I do mean slash) meet the Doctor.  This is a fandom interest, thing, and has been for a while.  There's going to be a lot of reaction fic to this.  There's the potential for a lot to come out of this.  I for one, am rather interested to see any interaction between these three characters/reaction in either series.
C: Jack's Torchwood gets to see where he went.
D: Torchwood was created to defend Great Britain against, in part, The Doctor.

Thing 3: Interaction of all characters who've not yet met each other.

Okay, so that actually wasn't that bad, once organised a bit.  Of course, its still freaking massive.  Seriously, RTD is going out with a bang, and there are so many things that got introduced this season, too.  This is really, really big, and I'm not entirely convinced of it, because, just... that's huge.  I mean, why don't you just invite Jenny, River Song, Mickey, and Doctor Five along?  ...and then they could all have cocktails or something in the TARDIS.  (...because a party in the TARDIS would be awesome, yes.)

This is a massive episode coming up, which, I realise I have said, over, and over again, but the point is this: I'm a little terrified of the rumoured scale of the thing.

ETA: lookie:

Tennant Who Gang

Lots of people.  So, more things:

Thing 1: Jackie-Mickey-Rose: will there be Pete and other AU people, then?

Thing 2: If Rose has AU people, Martha has UNIT, Donna has her family, and Jack has Torchwood in this episode, do we get to see who Sarah-Jane Smith has?

Thing 3:  They are fucking with us.  Oh, so much fucking.
Part A: I am look at this and going, "hmm.... you know what?  Clothes/poses look really familiar.  It almost looks pasted..." *is suspicious*
Part B: Okay, so I've gone to the BBC site to look at promo picks for the next episode... and my computer keeps on showing me this page before switching over, which is weird.  [I don't think this means anything, but it is odd and hackle raising.  It just, kind of reminds me of something they did to their main page a while back that  [personal profile] sobluethesky- who has requested not to be spoiled - showed me, where, at midnight if you were looking at the page there was a flash of Rose.  (I don't think that's what this is, but, just: I think they're having fun.)]
Part C: Doctor Who's kinda... very popular, so, sewing false rumours is something they'd do.  (I really, really hope that isn't what this is.)

Things I am most excited for about this coming episode:
Torchwood, hands down.  I am ridiculously excited to see Ianto meet the Doctor onscreen.  Seriously, on the list of reasons for the house whovians to stick that one out (we should seriously work on a list for that, Adri) Ianto is right up there.
Sarah-Jane Smith.  I like Sarah-Jane.
Rose and Jack meet, again.

A note for the powers that be:
I'd like Donna not to die, k? Thanks.  She is my favourite companion, and I do not like seeing her hurt.  I already have a grievance filed in that you have taken her perfect man, who was quite lovely, thank-you, away from her.  I have not said anything about this, before now, because I accept that we can not all have happy endings, and you had very recently let Martha have one with her Tom Milligan.  However, you should know that if you treat her badly I will no longer be able to overlook this.  Among other things she has the best family out of all the companions.  Don't you dare screw this up.

I'm kind of at the point with Rose, where I'm just, kind of impatient to have it over with.  I don't think that I'm going to be terribly excited with whatever they decide to do with her, because in a lot of ways she has never left the series.  She hasn't.  She hung around with Martha and the Doctor and she's spent this season popping up on random screens.  I don't think they can upset me much at this point, just do something final.

I feel like this could be a three-parter.  That's what I've been trying to get at, and failing miserably.  It's why I keep using synonyms for the word "large".  If they're doing this there's a lot of stuff I want to see them cover, and a lot of stuff they need to cover.  It is going to be a very full finale.
