kiki_engI'm disappearing for a while. This could be for a month, or six. I don't know at this point.
I am temporarily abandoning my journal and all of fandom. Mostly it's that I have decided that there are not enough books in my life.
Fandom: I still love you, I just need space. This is not a break up, I just, I just can't be with you right now, and, I know: rubbish lines, all of them, but all true, and I'll add one more: it's not you, it's me. (Really.)
So, in the mean time: please feel free to comment spam me with things: like recs for fic, and macro, and vids, and odes to David Tennant's hair. (or something) ...because I still care, really, and I'll go and sift through it all on my return. Don't worry about length, or spammage, or comment sick if you do this: I quite like letters and stuff, so is all non-issue.

This is very cute (and I have a huge thing for Rodney not being able to talk, which is, yes, it's kind of an obvious thing to do to him, but it still gets me, hard.) There's miscommunication and a happy ending.
S is for Space bysperanza and lim
Rating: NC-17, PG
It's just really gorgeous, which, from those two? No surprise. War Bride (the fic) gives a really nice series of shots of John and his relationships, especially the one he has with Rodney. The Body is Revolting is actually really cool with this retro feel to it. I like it, because: it incorporates a few of Flannigan's past characters into the building of Sheppard, shows that layering, the different people John's been. It's quite wonderfully fannish.
A Place on the Corner bytrobadora

This is happy-making. It really, really is. It's AU. John is a baker and one day McKay comes into his shop and then their lives start slowly twining around each other. (Also: I love Zelenka in this fic. He can live with Jeroen under my desk.)

Sentient Atlantis fic. It's a bit dark and incredibly fascinating.

John does not adjust well during his return to earth for a review; he keeps running into doors, and Rodney is not amused. (This is one of my favorite fics. It's a wonderful pick-me up and very much snicker-worthy.)
After the Other 'Verse bysiriaeve
John and Rodney are profs at Trinity College in Dublin, which makes me really happy. It's really pretty and there's this Dublin vibe that pours off of it.

Sheppard is the clockwork man. This to me is pure science fiction, and it's the sort of story that I love, because it asks questions and has interesting ideas. (See: scientific ethics, computers, computer technology, robots, etc.)
