Disclaimer: I own very little, which is just as well, really.
He opens one of the scrolls on his desk and his eyes rest on ‘g’s and ‘l’s he’s seen before, though never together in the same word, and the sparkling mesh of days gone by falls over him like James’ invisibility cloak.
His reverie is broken, though, when a hooked nose curves around the doorframe and thin lips tell him, tersely “Sirius Black has broken into Gryffindor tower.”
Dark eyes stare at him for a moment, then disappear, and there’s a silence in the room that’s the glittery gold rush of memories flying apart like fairy lights into darker, safer, corners.
