It's 44 seconds long, bright, flashy, bitter, and satisfying. It is also very, very pretty. I'm under the impression that this is one of those vids that are necessary. The yes, this vids that say something that desperately needs saying; that's what this vid does, and does concisely.

It scans as true, and I have a lot of love for the song - in general, and here - it just scans as exactly what this vid is trying to say, and how it is trying to say it, words, tone, rhythm and melody - dead on and perfectly matched. "But it was not your fault but mine, and it was your heart on the line. I really fucked it up this time, didn't I, my dear?"
(Song: Little Lion Man by Mumford & Sons)
I really need to start watching Supernatural. I mean, in addition to some damn fine vids there's also the fact that they apparently use ouija boards to fight crime and possibly somehow end up in child-yellow nurseries that have flamingoes on their walls. ...and there's lit and mythology and Americana, complete with really bad mustaches. (
readbystarlight you don't by chance know where I ought to go looking for Season One of Supernatural, do you?)
Supernatural also has a lot of RPF, likely because for a rather long time it was Sam and Dean who were the most fleshed out, chemistry-having (slashable) characters by a lot and there were a lot of people who didn't want to be writing incest fic. It's also, possibly as a reaction to the darkness of the show, the fluffiest kitten-filled thing I have ever seen.

It's a kind of awkward romance. There's a series of wonderfully strange houses that they explore as Jensen looks for a place to live that isn't Jared's guest bedroom. Adorable, sweet and comfortable; a quiet pick-me-up or a lazy Sunday fic.

The spring break college drama camp AU that kinda makes me wish I'd gotten packed off to camp when I was younger, because if camp is this awesome I feel like I missed something. There are traditions and this slow romantic build that is made of puppies and rainbows. There are all of these bits of what I'm starting to realise is CWRPF fanon and it's charming and endearing. There's banter and a little bit of snark, too; it's sweet and a lot of fun.

Chef AU! So, lots of food in this - there is also drinking and swearing and chocolate. Jared writes a blog as "Chef Guy" and there's glorious obliviousness. There's some really nice food-linked neuroses in here, too. It's lovely and a bit quirky. (Also: I think I need to go make grapefruit torte now, because this sounds as though it might be a good idea.)
In conclusion: J2 fic is kinda like candy floss, and maybe Guinness (I like Guinness), full of cuteness on par with lolcats. Seriously.
