Smart Bitches linked to a music video yesterday, and that post is really fun for a couple of reasons, or, okay, one reason: Sarah seems to be really enchanted by it. There's the part where romance novels are a kind of recurring theme in the video (it's cute and ridiculous and awesome) that she geeks about and then there's the part where Sarah looks up MuchFACT on wikipedia and is apparently quite taken by the concept. Outsider perspectives: they're interesting.
You should totally check out the video. It's something like what would happen if Taylor Swift collaborated with the YellowJackets.
I kind of want fic. Just- (*spoilers*) She reads romance novels and is ridiculous and kind of awesome. I want to read about her and her friends, and I have a lot of love for that lack of connection and that kind of oh shit, this is hysterical and also terrible face at the end.
Carly Rae Jepsen has another music video that I also want fic for. She did a duet with Josh Ramsay of Marianas Trench and I want undercover married fic.
See, clearly they are in law enforcement or something together and partners and there are shenanigans. I am completely ambivalent of whether or not there is any romance involved in this, because I would so be down with them being like the most amazing bros ever. It would be amazing, like that episode of Lost Girl that didn't happen.*
I really love how ridiculous both of those videos are; they're fun.
*Okay. Lost Girl did an undercover married episode, and I got ridiculously excited when I figured out that this was happening, because I was all Bo and Kenzi. Undercover married. Yes, because that would have been amazing. (Kenzi pretty much decides that Bo is never ever getting rid of her in the first episode and because of the part where humans are essentially fairy food, Kenzi is Bo's human, in a kind of hands-off, the dog is mine and not for dinner way. They live together and are best friends and Kenzi is ridiculous and awesome.)
It would have been beautiful, I tell you. Instead Bo goes undercover with her love interest/fuck buddy. It was so disappointing, which is how I feel about a lot of Lost Girl, actually.*
*Lost Girl feels a little like Stargate: Atlantis in that they have really excellent concepts that they then proceed not to explore to anything close to their full potential.
