kink_finders "is a multi-fandom fic-finder community to help you find fics that match a kink you might have -- for a broad definition of 'kink' meaning 'anything that presses your buttons and gets you excited'. That might be something that fits the traditional meaning of kink, or a narrative technique, or a type of character, or whatever."

I really like it, because the entries are basically an ongoing list of themes/elements in stories. Recent searches have included love at first sight, crossovers with withheld knowledge and clues, het fic with bi-identified characters, and unaware d/s.

New entries are really exciting to me, actually, because it's a trope, basically, and I love tropes... and then if I recognise it or recognise that I've read a story containing it I get to rec somebody something (I love reccing people things!) and other people recs things (I love recs!) and it is all very exciting to me. (I love excitement!) You should check it out. You, too, might find it exciting.

(...it is probably a really good thing that I did not actually caffeinate today.)

I didn't comment yesterday because I am generally a really bad person, but I love that you are doing the challenge because it means Lots of Kiki Entries on My RList :D

PS: Also, I notice you hid an off-hand comment in the very bottom of an email about a potential Bomb Girls thing and I completely missed it, but YES. YES THAT SHOULD BE A THING! (I am still intending to make some pic spams, I am just really slow...)

Hah. Part of the reason I'm doing in it is that I have been kind of failing on the whole feedback/commenting/entries thing lately; it has just not been happening for whatever reason. (It is a very nice festival, also.)

Yeah. I think that is a thing that should happen, and I think I need to make myself sit down and write it up and possibly make a banner. (Work, but yes.)

Oh man, kink_finders is my favourite thing. I'm just waiting for one of the mods to contact me and be like: STOP SPAMMING. Also, STOP POSTING VARIATIONS ON YOUR ONE KINK. OMG.

Withheld knowledge.

Be that concealed identity or reveal!fics, or people being seduced unsuspectingly... The thing is, half the time I don't realise until after I make my post. Then I look at it and I realise: oh right, that's all about withheld knowledge and the resulting power differential. WHY CAN'T I HAVE NORMAL KINKS, LIKE SPANKING?

Do you like mystery novels, then?

It's funny how kinks can kind of fly under the radar like that. I was writing something meta a while back and came up with an example of trope-y indulgent fic and I think it took me about a day to realise that I essentially had that fic in my drafts. There was this kind of moment of "...right."

Some kinks are definitely more searchable than others, I will give you that.
