kiki_eng: two bats investigating plants against the night sky (Kalinda smiles)

Earlier this week I fell and watched Teen Wolf (basically) and it is pretty much exactly what people have been saying it is, except that no one has really been writing about Gerard.

Gerard is a delight, or, well, I find Gerard delightful. He's part of the Argent family and is Canadian. Or, well, Michael Hogan, the actor who plays him is. Allow me to explain. Gerard is not Canadian the same way that Chris Argent - played by Canadian actor J.R. Bourne - is Canadian. Gerard has a Canadian theatre accent. There was a point when he was talking on my screen when my eyes got really big and I went "Oh my gosh. He's from Canadian theatre, isn't he?" then I looked him up on imdb, saw that he was from Northern Ontario and followed this up by internet-searching his name and "Stratford" with complete confidence. (I am not sure why I bothered.)

Gerard is a werewolf hunter and so a baddie on the show right now, and apparently the sort of baddie that the writers have decided should quote classic works occasionally, like, say, Shakespeare. He is a baddie quoting Shakespeare in a Canadian theatre accent. I find this deeply amusing. It is really good for me. I am kind of wondering where the Slings & Arrows crossover fic is, where they explore the Argents' past in Canadian theatre.

I would also take fic where Darren Nichols or Geoffrey Tennant wanders through Beacon Hills, mostly because I think either of them interacting with Derek would be hilarious and would clearly fit into that sensitive artistic soul/secret violinist stealth crossover type-thing with Castle that's starting to show up more in fic. Darren Nichols commenting on Derek's living situation would just be really good for me. I kind of can't decide if he would sneer and deride it or embrace it lovingly and generally wallow in its terribleness and never want to leave.

I just think that he would maybe appreciate the shabbiness and hip crossover. It is like You live in a renovated church/school? Hah. I live in a subway car (in an abandoned warehouse in the industrial part of town). The public transit thing just makes it kind of great. (It is really good for me.) You know that Darren would have feelings about the black leather sassiness of Derek's pack, too. I have this really wonderful/terrible vision of Darren deciding that he had found his people, and then later something (terrible?) happening and him storming off in a hissy fit. (It would be great.)

Or, somehow the school could decide that everyone needed to be involved in the community theatre and Geoffrey would be the director and despair of them all, and probably seriously freak out if he caught wind of any of the supernatural stuff. I just do not think that would be good for him at all. Basically he would be trying to direct a bunch of teenagers and wondering how this became his life. (Though, actually, I could see Geoffrey being reasonably happy directing teenagers. He might regret the this town or these teenagers aspect of it.)

Or, there is also the part where the guidance counselor is canonically French-Canadian. (I don't think her actress is.) I am not sure why, but if the show decided to pull an evil Canadians thing I would be down for that.
