The Bad Touch by [archiveofourown.org profile] sweetestdrain
Buzzfeed RPF | 4:21 | PG | Gen/GSF
Music: The Bad Touch by Bloodhound Gang
Summary: "Let's do it like they do on the Discovery Channel." Or: What WILL they try next?
+ [The Try Guys are independent of Buzzfeed now, but a lot of the footage from this is from there (all of it, maybe?) and I am going to tag them as Buzzfeed (forever, probably).] They're fun, and always so enthusiastic and silly and this More Joy Day vid captures that perfectly, and is a joy. Dancing, costumes, comedy, nudity, animals (fuzzy and otherwise), eroticism, and general shenanigans.

Let's Get Into The Theories by [archiveofourown.org profile] bessyboo
Buzzfeed RPF | 2:28 | G | Ryan & Shane
Music: I've Got A Theory/Bunnies/If We're Together from the Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Summary: I've got a theory.
+ This vid is perfect - A+ usage of semi-unusual audio. Adorable light comedy.

even the stars hide away by [archiveofourown.org profile] thingswithwings
Community | 3,346 words | PG-13 | Troy/Abed
Summary: Troy and Abed meet the in-laws.
+ This feels very real, how young they are in some ways, the difficulty of navigating relationships with family, the way you compartmentalise bits of yourself. Abed and Troy are so supportive of each other and growing great. It's wonderful.

my words will be your light by [archiveofourown.org profile] dollsome
Game of Thrones | 1,473 words | G | Sansa/Tyrion
Summary: Sansa and Tyrion have another conversation. Set after 8x01.
+ I have not watched this show but I ship it. This is very much post-episode shipping fic with (I think at the time?) canon-compliant relationship development, talking things out on the way to moving forward together. Quiet.

meditations ex post facto by [archiveofourown.org profile] singlecrow
Guardian | 9,253 words | PG | Shen Wei/Zhao Yunlan
Summary: "It is very tedious,” Professor Shen agrees, setting down his cup of tea. “I admire your forbearance.”
“I have no forbearance,” Zhao Yunlan assures him. “I get drunk a lot and throw things.”

or, the lawyers AU that no one asked for.
+ This is one of my favourite things I've read in years. It's this beautiful unfurling of things; it feels like spring. The structure of the AU is great - the role transfer from SI to municipal legal counsel is stellar, the characterisation is spot-on all around and there's taking care of each other and backing each other up, and dealing with West Wing-type problems and the Shen Wei/Zhao Yunlan dynamic is keyboard smash levels of perfect. There's identity stuff in this and hjfkhlgdjkgkkjlfdjl;gada.

Ordinary Numbers by [archiveofourown.org profile] BootsnBlossoms and [archiveofourown.org profile] Kryptaria
James Bond | 44,168 words | PG-13 | James/Q
Summary: More than anything, Mike Taylor wanted to be ordinary. Being a genius, he learned early in life, meant people expected too much. A career at the MI6 Help Desk seemed the perfect way to guarantee a lifetime of obscurity, until he got a very unusual tech support call.
+ Q is hyper-competent in spite of himself and a tech snafu leads to Bond adopting him as his personal mission tech support; they basically accidentally fall in love with each other over a series of phone calls and woo the shit out of each other, like, this is kind of curtain!fic where they haven't met and then they figure out and deal with the fact that they're in a relationship at the end. Office fic with a tiny bit of identity porn en route to a more canon compliant ending, includes action sequences and peril.

I Did Something Bad by [archiveofourown.org profile] jarrow
Killing Eve | 3:46 | R | Eve/Villanelle
Music: I Did Something Bad by Taylor Swift
Summary: It just felt so good.
+ Source material I haven't seen. Revelatory and progressively darker narrative. Blood and knives, guns and poison, violence and unravelling.

Little bit more by [archiveofourown.org profile] blithesea
Killing Eve | 2:25 | R | Eve/Villanelle
Music: Little Bit More by Tony C. And The Truth
Summary: Villanelle being gleefully psychopathic. Sandra Oh's face.
+ Violent lesbians to bad-ass country. The treatment of murder in this vid reminds me of the Dexter aesthetic.

Melodrama by [archiveofourown.org profile] mithborien
Marvel | 2:52 | PG | Gamora & Nebula
Music: Melodrama by Lorde
Summary: "You were the one who wanted to win. I just wanted a sister!"
A Gamora & Nebula fanvid during GOTG2.
+ Fraught, full of feelings, very pretty.

the family brooklyn by [archiveofourown.org profile] tactfulGnostalgic
Marvel | 12,874 | PG-13 | Miles Morales
Summary: New York is notoriously protective of its superheroes.
+ This made me cry, almost - dry ugly sobs - they just love him so much and want to take care of him. ...and it's also slice of life about Miles figuring out how to be a superhero - stuff about copyright law and other practical stuff, and Brooklyn is tagged as a character and this is like John/Atlantis fic; it's Miles/Brooklyn and it's beautiful. The feels snuck up on me and punched me in the gut.

The Fifties by [archiveofourown.org profile] speranza
Marvel | 28,185 words | NC-17 | Bucky/Steve/Peggy
Summary: "Because everything's all right, isn't it?" Bucky said. "Everything's great. I'm so happy; I never thought I could be this happy. You're happy, too, aren't you, Peg?"
+ Poly fic with relationship and career discussion and development along with some great sci-fi.

Bad Girls by [archiveofourown.org profile] elipie
Ocean's 8 | 3:41 | PG | Lou/Debbie
Music: Bad Girls by M.I.A.
Summary: If you're going to have a problem with stealing, then you're not going to like the rest of this conversation.
+ Excellent recruiter vid, solid vibe and femslash. Stylishly bad-ass lady criminals getting what they want.

a country you remember by [archiveofourown.org profile] waspabi
Rivers of London | 1,355 words | G | Molly
Summary: When a girl goes into service, people like to think she pledges fealty to the family, but that isn’t true. She serves the house.
+ when I make that home rec set, this is meant to be in it. Molly finding a home and being part of it - excellent character study and house spirit fic, basically.

The Rock and The River by [archiveofourown.org profile] Rhea
Spirited Away | 17,442 | PG-13 | Chihiro/Haku
Summary: Chihiro takes magic and bends it around herself to make a place in the world.
+ I think there's a few errant SPAG issues with this but I don't quite remember and sort of don't give a shit because this fic is awesome. College and part time jobs and finding and building your place in the world and magic and living. Food porn and long-distance relationships, also.

What Buddies Know About Love by [archiveofourown.org profile] busaikko
Stargate: Atlantis | 5,432 words | G | John/Ronon
Summary: Ronon's making his own future; John's there for him. Ronon thinks it's time to take the next step in their relationship; John has reservations. Neither of them wants to talk about it, but they do anyway. (Contains canon pairings).
+ Language and culture and finding your person. John is ace in this and Ronon essentially proposes and I love them. Domesticity and therapy and taking care of each other and tattoos, also. Funny and sweet.

Your First Time Should Be Special by [archiveofourown.org profile] Helenish
Star Trek | 6,650 words | NC-17 | Kirk/Spock
The thing about being a captain of a starship is that you forget how to break up with people; the starship is a gigantic, unmistakable clue that you're probably not sticking around.
+ Relationship development with Jim taking it slow for Spock and having a bunch of self-worth issues that he's unable to express. There's some offscreen Bones and Spock friendship stuff that I really enjoyed, also, along with the Bones and Kirk stuff.

Somewhere to Start by [archiveofourown.org profile] lissadiane
Teen Wolf | 33,552 | PG-13 | Derek/Stiles
Summary: Stiles has always known that he isn't quite human - the plant life that tends to sprout around him whenever he gets upset or excited gives it away. He's never really fit in among the regular people in Beacon Hills and is determined to wait it out, go to college, and find somewhere to belong. He's forced to abandon those plans, however, after he desperately agrees to enter into an arranged marriage to save his father's life.
An arranged marriage with an angry, sometimes furry dude with trust issues. It's all very Beauty and the Beast, without the singing candlesticks.
+ Enforced captivity, supernatural politics, and kids are key parts of this. It's an alive Hale family fic, Stiles has been cut off from the supernatural his whole life and then gets plunged into it and used as a pawn, Derek is surly and the whole thing is kind of fandom-takes-on-fairy-tales/magical-realism at its best. Solid long!fic.

#blessed by [archiveofourown.org profile] thehoyden
Buzzfeed RPF | 9,363 words | NC-17 | Ryan/Shane
Of course Shane would rather not work; he’d like it to be like the good old days, and who wouldn’t? But a demon’s gotta eat, and he can’t even get a discount on his rent because it turns out it’s a lot harder to influence faceless companies with ominous dreams. Ergo: gainful employment at Buzzfeed.
+ Fun. I loved this.

Love, That Loosener of Limbs by [archiveofourown.org profile] amatalefay
Doctor Who | 253 words | G | Bill Potts/Sappho
Summary: “Like, finally here's a poem that isn't just some bloke whining about how a beautiful girl won’t give him sex, and it's basically ‘sweet mother, I’m too gay to do my chores, blame Aphrodite’. Like, honestly? Most relatable thing I’ve read in years.”
Bill meets Sappho.
+ This was super cute and fun.

Judith and her Maidservant by [archiveofourown.org profile] Siria
Marvel | 1,146 words | PG-13 | Dora Skirth

Rivers of London | 4,641 words | NC-17 | Peter/Thomas
Sahra and Jaget have taken to texting or emailing me specs of the interior of a Jaguar Mark 2 followed by a long string of question marks. It makes me wish I had an answer for them. But more than that it makes me wish I had better friends.
+ Car sex and them messing with each other a bit en route to that.

the dogfather by [archiveofourown.org profile] hollimichele
Harry Potter | PG-13 | 47,681 words | Harry, Sirius/Remus
“I’m not a reverse werewolf either,” says the man. “I’m your godfather.”
+ I enjoyed this. I remember it as, like, soft gen fuckyoucurtain!fic. (Fuckyoucurtain!fic is an HP genre, clearly; I don't remember what it's actually called, okay.) This is like a gentle AU, nestled up alongside the books, featuring a better way to live. I really liked how Harry constructed his identity as an adoptee.

Bidirectional Interpolations of Newly Emergent Thirst Traps: A Study by [archiveofourown.org profile] Siria
Buzzfeed RPF | PG-13 | 2,276 words | Ryan/Shane

been a forest burning by [archiveofourown.org profile] oflights
Hockey RPF | NC-17 | 53,932 words | Barrie/Landeskog
Summary: Omegas have to be bonded by 25 to keep playing in the NHL; either they have someone they've chosen themselves, or the league makes them pick from an anonymous pool of alphas. Tyson turns 24 with no prospects and no real plans for any just yet, and Gabe knows that as his captain and friend, he has to help him out. So he does.
+ I still have no idea who these people are and was in it for the tropes. Good trope exploration. Reads like a solid forced marriage fic with interesting layers.

the gift we cannot destroy by [archiveofourown.org profile] susiecarter
Star Trek | PG-13 | 5,793 words | Bashir/Garak
Summary: Julian has no soulmark. He knows what that must mean, and he's learned to accept it. Meeting Garak, getting to know him, is almost enough to make him think—but it's not possible. Garak must have a soulmate, and there's simply no way it could be Julian. Right? (Or: five times Julian thought he was alone, plus the time he realized he'd been wrong all along.)
+ I loved this? Soulbonding with twisty people and kind of slow burn-type feel.

Check Please! | G | 2,959 words | Jack/Eric
Summary: Jack Zimmermann keeps up with his neighborhood's Facebook group only so he can keep an eye out for lost dogs during his morning run. Until the day one of his neighbors starts giving away pies.

Rivers of London | R | 6,511 words | Grant/Nightingale
Summary: Thomas’s back and knees creak alarmingly when he gets out of bed these days. He’s still an early riser, up with the birds, but it’s getting more and more tempting to stay in bed where it’s warm and comfortable, to perhaps hint to Molly that she could bring him breakfast on a tray and he could rise afterwards, perhaps even start work at a later hour.
He doesn’t. He is the last wizard of London and he doesn’t know what will happen when he dies.

(Thomas Nightingale, 1900-, wizard.)
+ I love this Thomas through time stuff and the moments sketched out here and the picture that they build of his present.

Something Smart to Do by [archiveofourown.org profile] kianspo
Star Trek | R | 21,322 words | Jim/Spock
Summary: In which Jim finds himself fake-married to his first officer every other month. It's not his fault. Mostly. Dowries and Klingons are involved. Starfleet is decidedly not amused.
+ Fake married and Winona is in this, also there are various missions and Pike.

Into You Like a Train by [archiveofourown.org profile] hannasus
DCU | R | 54,472 words | Oliver/Felicity
Summary: Felicity Smoak’s only reservation about taking a job as script supervisor on John Diggle’s latest film is the lead actor: Oliver Queen. He’s a former teen heartthrob with a reputation for bad behavior and a messy drug habit that tanked his once-promising career. Now, five years after he disappeared off the Hollywood radar, Queen’s looking to make a comeback. But has he really cleaned up his act, or will his attitude problem make Felicity’s life a living hell for the nine-week shoot in New Orleans?
+ Basically exactly how I would like my 50K+ het AUs in fandoms I do not follow. Solid with slow relationship development and some mild pining.

And you know what? Sometimes I'm going to write perfectly canon things, and sometimes I'm going to write the ridiculous things that make people happy. So here we are.

"Just a little something, a token of my appreciation for all your hard work," Miss Fisher chirped, already halfway out of his office.
"But--"
"Goodbye, Inspector!" She wiggled her fingers at him and was gone.

+There's some really great tension in this and I love the kind of subversion of traditionally gendered power dynamics within very rigidly gendered environments. I am about Jack wearing Phyrnne's presents at work.

Old Dog by [archiveofourown.org profile] thingswithwings
Leverage | Rating: NC-17 | 16,332 words | Eliot/Hardison/Parker
Eliot's their hitter, and taking on any physical threats to the team is his job, but there's something beyond professionalism – even beyond the obvious fact that Eliot relishes the fight itself – in the way he puts his body between Parker or Alec and any potential threat. Alec has a good view of Eliot's back on a lot of jobs, and he reads something in the tight line of Eliot's shoulder, in the slow turn of his foot as he steps into a fighting stance.
Something possessive.

+More kink! A really great fic about Eliot growing to let himself be loved and cared for and see himself as more than one thing and Alec and Parker being patient and demonstrative.

Sadly, Cousin Lucan Redwyne was a knight newly minted, and he only stares at Olenna with a certain genteel and spineless horror. "
Olenna," Lucan hisses, looking around hurriedly. "You are talking about the royal House!"
"Royal House, pah," Olenna rolls her eyes. "They're more inbred than usual for us noblefolk, I suppose that does rather make them more royal. A royal pack of madmen, that's what they are."

+I've never been exposed to any of the source material, but these are some enjoyable shenanigans.

-Jim doesn’t exactly disabuse him of the notion.
He slips in love with Spock inconspicuously, during an uneventful afternoon, on an unnamed planet destined to become little more than a Greek letter and a Roman numeral on Starfleet’s chart of the Beta Cygni system.
+Amnesia, accidental bonding, and Nyota and Jim being friends. Ridiculous.

Tore a Line in the Sun by [archiveofourown.org profile] stilinski
Teen Wolf | Rating: PG-13 | 44,929 words | Derek/Stiles
"If you're watching this, you're probably some kind of sentient life form responding to my distress call – well, it's not really an official distress call because, well, the hardware for that is kind of crushed, but I'm definitely in distress, so that should probably count for something."
The young man on the screen sighs and rubs his face, jerking his hand away with a hiss. He's bleeding, Derek realises: there's a gash across his brow and the knuckles of both hands are bruised and bloody, and that's only what he can make out between the cracks in the glass and the frame of the camera.

+Space rescues and world-building and a plot like a really good fusion. [profile] starwire will probably want to read this.

There's something about Stiles that Derek finds fascinating, and before long the two become embroiled in each other's lives.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them | Rating: R | 38,585 words | Credence/Percival
The first thing Percival Graves does after being released back into the world is buy a new wand. He's at Greymalkin's for ten minutes and the only wand that works for him is raw aspen, whiter than bone and so rough that Graves gives himself a splinter conjuring a storm of birds. The wand—dragon heartstring, a most unusual wand for an American wizard, according to a flustered Greymalkin—feels wild, and Graves empties half his wallet on the counter and keeps his hand on his new wand all the way home.
The second thing he does is quit his job, because honestly.
("Grindelwald did his research before he put on your face," Seraphina says reasonably. "And it's not like you're open with your personal life. He has us all fooled."
"He wore
scorpion stickpins!" Graves shoots back, somewhat less reasonably.
Seraphina looks at Graves, his pressed creases, his immaculate shirt, the red ruby cufflinks he's wearing to hide the starved brittleness of his wrists. "I'm sorry," she says. It is not enough to make him stay.)
The third thing he does is get jumped by Credence Barebone in an alley.

+I haven't seen the film but this reads like a really cool expansion on its world and has some really great depths and shadows and character interactions - snappy and pulpy and tropey. I was a big fan of the magic and world in this and its plottiness. There's also tentative domesticity and recovery in this - it's pretty great.
kiki_eng: text: "i ate ALL your bees" (Black Books) ("I ate all your bees.")
Because the Doomsday Clock made that seem like a fitting thing this past week or something. (Also this was way easier than doing that meme without a theme.) These are all PWP or PWP-adjacent fics that I haven't recced before, still exist online, and remembered without rifling through my bookmarks.

Five Days of Dickings by [archiveofourown.org profile] drunktuesdays, [archiveofourown.org profile] mklutz, [archiveofourown.org profile] the_ragnarok
Five Dickings in Five Days was the (hopefully interim) title he’d seen on the contract. More like five days of dickings. Whatever, Stiles was into it. The money is great; the fucking is also great. It’s a win-win way to pay for college.
Teen Wolf | Rating: NC-17 | 17,845 words | Derek/Stiles, Peter/Stiles, Aiden/Ethan/Stiles, Danny/Stiles, Chris/Jordan/Stiles, Boyd/Erica/Stiles, Boyd/Erica, Erica/Stiles, Boyd/Stiles
I remain impressed by the collaborative nature of this piece, appreciate the structure and arc of this story, and its spread of kinks and characters. It's solid.

Comedy. This is basically the title that I am going to remember forever. That and like, a lingering impression of kazoos and clowns and Amanda Palmer?

"You are never getting to plan anything ever again," Rodney said. "What kind of a military strategist are you, anyway?"
Stargate: Atlantis | Rating: NC-17 | 1,719 words | McKay/Sheppard
Noncon and snark. Really tropey. The bit where McKay and Sheppard are physically manipulated to fuck each other may be a bit meta, thinking on it.

Zone Blitz by [archiveofourown.org profile] summerstorm
Summary: from glee_kink: Quinn loves the idea of dressing up in a boy's football uniform, but is embarrassed/ashamed. Rachel proves to her that her fantasy isn't weird, or abnormal.
Glee | Rating: NC-17 | 4,167 words | Rachel/Quinn
I remember this fic in terms of that vulnerability she has exploring that fantasy and the interplay that it has with gender and gender roles.

Till You Make It by [archiveofourown.org profile] lightgetsin
I squirmed, pinned between him and the counter. "It’s not – look, I don’t run to schedule, okay?" I said. "Don’t – I’m not easy."
"You don’t say." Okay, that much sarcasm was uncalled for.
"I mean it," I said doggedly. "I’m not one of those ‘insert coin, pull lever’ girls."

The Dresden Files | Rating: NC-17 | 19,776 words | Harry/Marcone
I pulled up three of [archiveofourown.org profile] lightgetsin's fics when I was making this list and every single one of them I remembered as a line from its summary. But, yeah: gender and elusive orgasms.

Nightingale actually stopped dead in his tracks as he saw me on the stairs, in my dirty rugby kit, smeared with dirt and grass. I'd left the boots off outside, to avoid risking Molly's wrath. “Good Lord,” he said slowly, his eyes scanning me from head to toe.
Rivers of London | Rating: NC-17 | 2,088 words | Peter/Thomas
Mostly I remember this fic for that moment within it of being completely taken by the sight of someone, that kind of blinding lust. And of course there's follow-through.

Only As Directed by [archiveofourown.org profile] rageprufrock
“Arthur is a bad man,” Roxy had said.
“Fucking tell me about it,” Eggsy had muttered, and gone to put on the tarty trousers Harry had picked out for him like a fucking high-end pimp.

Filth within the framework of a honeypot mission heavily directed by Harry.

"You okay there, Frase?" He looks concerned, more so as Fraser takes a deep breath, holds it, and slowly lets his eyes fall shut.
due South | Rating: NC-17 | 2,941 words | Fraser/RayK
Kink discovery with Fraser smelling ice and then devastatingly in character follow-through on the premise with perfect voices.

A Beginner's Guide to Vulcan Sexual Practice, by Captain James T. Kirk by [archiveofourown.org profile] thingswithwings
It is tradition," Spock says blandly. "Surely you would not ask me to abandon Vulcan tradition." "Uh," Jim replies.
Star Trek | Rating: NC-17 | 4,621 words | Kirk/Spock
This fic was written in reaction to an lj comm's rules which were anti-kink; read or reread them first - it makes it better.

Stiles looks up. Slowly. “Holy shit,” he says. The tentacle is attached to more tentacles which are attached to a giant glowing squid thing. “That is not the droid we were looking for.”
Teen Wolf | Rating: NC-17 | 4,130 words | Derek/Stiles
Sometimes fandom churns out something that's this combination of incredibly sweet and dirtybadwrong, full on lecherous embrace of some taboo kink nestled up to the fluffiest shit imaginable, and my heart grows three sizes.

I am returning to my social bookmarking-less past until Maciej sorts it so that exports are functional and I can actually move to pinboard (yes, I was still with delicious, yes, I should have moved years ago) - for now, a link dump wherein I reread nothing while releasing a bunch of fandom tabs I have on my browser:

Boom Clap (The Sound of My Heart) by [archiveofourown.org profile] femmequixotic and [archiveofourown.org profile] noe
Harry Potter | Rating: NC-17 | 39, 547 words | Harry/Draco
Summary: Post-war Hogwarts has been energized by its new teaching fellows program. Where once bitter enmity divided the wizarding community, Malfoy and Potter chummily patrol hallways together whilst Granger and Zabini seek lost parts of the castle at McGonagall’s behest and Chang supervises Quidditch when not lecturing in Charms. It’s a veritable wizarding utopia and life is predictable for the first time in years. Which is, of course, when everything blows apart as the result of a drunken dare and Malfoy’s life is ruined beyond his capacity to repair it. Ever. In a million years.
One of my joys this past year has been a slight resurgence in Harry/Draco works - they weren't one of my pairings in the sort of height or golden age of that fandom and pairing, but it was a lot of fun to be discovering the dynamic through new works something like a decade later. I have zero memory of this fic scanning through it, but that means nothing - I often have to get, like, a page into a work before I can tell whether or not I've read it before.

A better man might by [archiveofourown.org profile] lowriseflare and [archiveofourown.org profile] threeguesses
Pitch | Rating: NC-17 | 9,397 words | Ginny/Mike
Summary: The day Mike realizes he’s actively looking for Baker’s ass in the dugout is the day he decides he should probably stop slapping it.
This is like, age gap, and sports culture and gender, and sex and kink, a little. (I think a lot of shit is inherently kinky - from G to NC-17 - and am not using that word as code for BDSM; I can't remember the specifics of any sex scenes in this but I do know that I really liked this fic and I think the sex is pretty integral.)

places to be by [archiveofourown.org profile] Sixthlight
Rivers of London | Rating: PG-13 | 6,314 words | Beverley/Peter, Beverley/Peter/Thomas
Summary: Tolstoy was wrong: every happy family is happy in its own way.
Accidental co-parenting and kidfic with a poly bent. Sixthlight tends to write themes that I care about and write really well; I remember this fic as a delight.

Check Please! | Rating: PG-13 | 4,258 words | Alicia, Bitty
Jack looks at her and then puts her luggage down and leans in, grabs her into a full-body hug, right there on the sidewalk, holding her so close. She can’t remember when he last hugged her this hard. “He told his parents. About being gay. About us,” he says into her shoulder. “They were awful.”
It's about that, about Jack calling his mom for help, after, and her supporting her son and his partner, being there for Bitty, physically, and her reflecting on parenthood and time, a bit. It's pretty great.

Inception | Rating: NC-17 | 15,169 words | Arthur/Eames
"Ah," Yusuf says, lifting a reproving hand, "are we calling less than 24 hours of memory loss amnesia now?"
Excellent use of tropes - there's almost a secret identity component with the amnesia - and character and relationship exploration.

Mission Impossible | Rating: R | 6,262 words | Benji/Ethan
"So you and Hunt are a package deal these days,” Bryson says.
“Uh,” Benji says, jerking his head up from his computer, ballpoint in his mouth.

I did not expect to like this and buy this pairing but this story was compelling for me.

Star Wars | 3:06 | Poe/Finn/Rey

Les Miserables | Rating: G | 1,514 words | Enjorlas/Grantaire
Summary: prompt: “accidentally broke into your apartment because i was drunk AU”; You would actually expect Grantaire to wake up in an unknown apartment but things don’t always happen like expected.
I don't know that I actually finished reading this, I think I got about a paragraph in and went No! This is not the BNL song AU that I need in my heart of hearts and kind of want to write now and I need to hold onto this fic because it has inspired me.

be yourself my ally by [archiveofourown.org profile] imperfectcircle
Wonder Woman | Rating: G | 15,531 words | Etta/Diana
Summary: “That’s all very flattering,” Etta says when Diana has finally run out of steam, “but surely you have more qualified candidates than me?”
“You are of the world of men.” Diana looks a little embarrassed. “But not a man.”

-- Diana and Etta go back to Themyscira.
I think there's a thing, sort of, where we are, all of us, Darcy Lewis. I think we are also all Etta Candy, and, you know, that's a pretty fantastic vicarious experience in this fic. There's a a fake relationship in this fic. There are rituals and festivities. A+ I mean, there's also some world building if you're into that kind of thing, but I am basically entirely *chinhands* about Etta and Diana dating and the tropes here. (There are kittens in this! There are, like, alien shenanigans. It is fantastic.)

Resource Sharing by [archiveofourown.org profile] rsadelle
James Bond | Rating: NC-17 | 3,476 words | Q/Alec/James, Q/Alec, Q/James
Summary: Q experiences what it means when James says he and Alec share everything.
I remember this basically as filthy porn. Tags include d/s and double penetration.

World Ain't Ready by [archiveofourown.org profile] idiopathicsmile
Les Miserables | Rating: PG-13 | 185,796 words | Enjorlas/Grantaire
Summary: Enjolras presses his lips together. He already looks pained, and Grantaire hasn't even opened his mouth yet. That's got to be a record, even for them.
"I need a favor," he says at last.
"With what?" says Grantaire. "Ooh, are you forming a cult? Can I join? I'd be awesome at cults, I just know it." He ticks off his qualifications on his fingers. "I love chanting, I look great in robes—"

(High school AU. Grantaire the disaffected stoner is pulled into a cause bigger than himself. Or: in which there are pretend boyfriends for great justice.)
Yeah. It's exactly what it sounds like. The really long high school fake dating AU with pining and miscommunication and all of the teenaged things, basically. Solid supporting cast business with other story lines.

Penetration Testing by [archiveofourown.org profile] Toft
Person of Interest | Rating: NC-17 | 8,886 words | Harold/John
Summary: The CIA wants to know what Harold Wren is building for Nathan Ingram, so they set a honey trap. They bait it with John Reese.
God, this fic is basically what I love about John Reese as a character, and makes me want to write meta about kink, and here I definitely mean with reference to d/s. He's like the murder sub? And he just wants to be taken care of and loved and challenged?

The Real Thing by [archiveofourown.org profile] sevenfists
Hockey RPF | Rating: NC-17 | 34,892 words | Evgeni/Sid
Sitting at the table was Sid: Sid as Zhenya had first known him, almost a decade before: dorky, long-haired Sid, his cheeks round with baby fat. He couldn’t have been older than twenty, and even that was generous.
“Wow,” baby Sid said. “Are you
Evgeni Malkin?”
I think the thing that got me with this fic - it's a pretty typical set-up and hockeyrpf loves themselves some age-regression - was the relationships that the present day Sid and Geno have with the time traveler. There's some tension, and a very real vulnerability that the younger Sid has because of his age that's I think really present in his relationship with Geno at this time and adds another layer to their interactions, as well as the interactions that Sid has with his younger self; I think it's a really interesting exploration of the sort of vulnerability of youth in this fic, and also power dynamics in relationships to some extent, and the dynamics of relationships in general and the tensions that exist in them, even when you are on even footing.

Under Yellow Moons by [archiveofourown.org profile] skoosiepants
Teen Wolf | Rating: PG-13 | 17,127 words | Derek/Stiles
Summary: They stare at each other, half-grinning, and Derek knows it’s definitely the absolute wrong time for this, but he wants. He wants to grin at Stiles over dinner every day for the rest of his life, baffled over yams and Moon Pie Day, and, god, crap, goddamn, when the fuck did he have time to fall in love?
Or
The life and times of Deputy Stiles and Supernatural Foster Dad Derek Hale
Some day I need to talk about how much I love skoosiepants, like, coding those italics just then made me so happy, and there's a kind of bandom style to her work, which is just fun - I've been enjoying this adult human Stilinski-Hale business she's been getting up to lately.

So that's my tabs cleared out, and, like step one in catch-up - I owe a few people some things I need to finish sorting.
